He has served as President since January 1998 and as Chief Executive Officer from June 2001 to the present. Under Templeton’s leadership, Citrix has become one of the world’s top technology companies. In the 1990s, he was responsible for Citrix’s marketing strategy in server-based computing, a strategy based on the company’s ground-breaking application virtualization technology, helping the company to achieve market leadership with approximately 80 percent market share. In that time, Citrix has also grown to more than 4,600 employees who help more than 210,000 organizations worldwide – including all of the Fortune 100 and 99 percent of the Fortune Global 500.
